- Surface coating technology: Application of coatings containing silver ions or photocatalysts (e.g., TiO₂) via spraying or dipping. Lower cost, but less durable and may degrade with wear.
- Electrolytic antimicrobial treatment: Forms a dense antimicrobial oxide layer on the surface through electrolysis, offering stronger adhesion and better durability than standard coatings.
